Tips And Tricks To Make a Home Look Bigger At Your Open House

It’s easy to help make an open house look like a wide open house. It just takes a little planning and working with the seller. Here are a few tips and tricks to add or create the illusion of space in the home you are getting ready to sell.

  • Ask the Seller to Declutter – Clean off counters, desks, tables, any place where stuff gets piled or placed. Less junk equals more space!
  • Use Mirrors to Create Space – The simple addition of a large mirror can increase the size of any room it’s in. Lean mirrors against walls atop dressers, side tables, on floors, etc….
  • Remove Extra Furniture – Consider storing extra chairs, side tables, toy or storage chests, and decorative furnishings that simply take up room.
  • Remove Window Treatments – Large swags, valances, panels and puddle curtains can make a room look smaller. See if the seller can take them down, leaving blinds or shades.
  • Light It Up! – Light makes everything appear more open. Turn on ceiling fan lights, lamps, recessed lighting and any other source of light found in the home.

We hope this helps your Open House look bigger!
