Believe it or not, the holidays are actually here. While many Americans consider November the official start of the holiday season, the reality is that Halloween officially kicks off the holidays in our part of the world. In order to ring in the start of the holiday season, jumpstart your marketing early by capitalizing on Halloween.
We’ve put together a quick guide for Halloween marketing ideas for agents. Here are our favorite tips!
Make Your Social Media Spooky
For an effective holiday marketing campaign, you must fully embrace the holiday at hand. Halloween is often closely associated with fall as many parts of the country are experiencing the beauty, color change, and temperatures which means that focusing on visuals is essential to your Halloween marketing.
Feature your listings with Halloween or fall decor and really emphasize the beauty of the season. Your listings, especially those rich with vegetation, are likely prime candidates for beautiful, visually-inspired social media posts with changing colors and holiday decor.
Halloween Staging
Staging your homes is an essential part of getting eyes on your listings and highlighting some of the beauty and potential of the homes you have on the market. Part of what makes staging effective is giving potential buyers an idea of what it would be like to live in the new home and have it decorated for the season.
With the selling season generally slowed down in the fall, this is an ideal opportunity to try out some new staging ideas and go all-in on decorating your listings further highlighting some of the things that make a home unique. Obviously, front porch decor is a great place to start by adding curb appeal to the home. Additionally, try planting seasonal flowers and ornamentals and adding seasonally-appropriate interior decor.
Open House Trick-or-Treat
If you’ve got a listing that’s in a highly-visible neighborhood that attracts a good deal of trick-or-treaters, consider hosting an open house on your community’s trick-or-trick evening. Sure, trick-or-treating is for the kids, but if their parents plan well enough in advance, you can provide them with a treat in the form of a perfect open house.
Not only does an open house attract families of little ones, but it gives you a great opportunity to get to know the neighborhood and potentially churn up some business just by being available. Obviously, if you want to go the extra step, make your open house more of a casual Halloween party and provide snacks and beverages in addition to traditional Halloween candy.
Keep it Simple
Just because you’re leveraging the Halloween holiday for your business, it doesn’t mean that you necessarily need to go seriously above and beyond what you typically do with your marketing campaigns. As a matter of fact, keeping it simple and using the idea that “less is more” can often be just the thing you need for your campaigns.
By subtlely incorporating Halloween and fall hints into your email campaigns and social media posts, your audience will know that you’re about business but also have some fun with the holidays. Of course, don’t be so subtle that you ignore the season all together. Make it fun, incorporate the holidays into your marketing, and have a “spooky” good time!
